Reasons for living

Sleepless at 3 a.m., everything begins to make sense in this strange and beautiful way. Or begins to lose all sense in this strange and beautiful way. Either way, hosanna and namaste.

Thanks, Metafilter.

Wow, that's even cooler than the Velvet Underground on Lawrence Welk clip.

You light up my life, lady.

It's like something from a dream...a dream you have when your temperature is really really high...but it's awesome.

Absolutely incredible...and here I'm finally watching the video at 2in the morning.

But something's wrong...they're singing the lyrics so that I can understand them! What's up with that???

And thanks for the MacSaber URL--if I had the version of this laptop AFTER it, I could run the program. I've gotta get my hands on a MacBook so I can fulfill this geeky need!

Everyone: Glad you liked it as much as I did. Knew I liked you people for a reason. Everyone smart knows to bow down to the power of the almighty uke.

Karl Elvis: Party 'til you uke, man.

I once knew a guy who had devised an electric ukelele. It was amazing.

Thanks for the link. Have you read the write ups? Hysterical.

First of all, calling a ukelele a "bonsai guitar" just rocks.

And then:
From Tchaikovsky to Nirvana via Otis Reading the Orchestra takes you on a world tour with only hand luggage and gives the listener "One Plucking Thing after Another".

Rayilicious: And you fill my...nights...with...sooooong for showing me that clip.

It's all so wrong. But...it can't be wrong when it feels so right.

As an aside, I kind of wish people would go back to dancing like that sometimes. It's so lovely and cute. But I don't want the hairdos.

AAG: It is. And yet it's REAL. If only all my realities were like that, I'd be wearing a shit-eating grin every day of the week. And what's with that guy with the clock for a head? Well, I could do without him in my dreams.

Spcknght: I love the part where the singer goes "Shhhhh...." Something so deadly uncomfortable and geeky and deliberately funny about it. It's like they took geeky, moved to irony, moved past it, and took a right turn to earnestness. My favorite blend. It's perfect.

YW for the MacSaber link. I thought for sure you'd have had a laptop that worked for it. Did you not see they had a version for PowerBooks and iBooks?

WDKY: Having been a Squeeze fan from way, way back, I've been familiar with Jools and his many exploits for a very long time.

Hey, imagine what it's like actually LVING here.

I have done. Lived there, not imagined it, that is. Or rather, I imagined it, and then I lived there, and now I live far from there and imagine it again.
